Fuel Subsidy: Maurice Akueme Foundation To Support Indigents With Palliatives

The Nation is currently experiencing hard time as a result of fuel subsidy removal which has since the assumption of the current federal government hiked the cost of PMS thereby elevating untold hardship via devalued currency, hike in prices of food and farm equipment, hike in transportation fare and more.

It is on the above premise that the Founder/President of the Maurice Akueme Foundation, Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme, approved the distribution of palliatives in form of cash and food items to the most indigent families in Enugu State.

According to Akueme, he is not unaware that the Federal Govt had doled out N5bn in addition to whatever efforts the state had intended, however, he sees the welfare of the people as not being entirely met by the government, and therefore opens opportunities for non- profitable investors like him to help. He called on all philanthropists alike to join hands to reduce the hardship meted on the people as a result of fuel subsidy removal.
